Well the latest router is the Billion 7300N which is priced at R 1108.26

Then you other option is:

Billion 7300G (which is now revised and has a new look similar to that of the 7300N) and that is going for R684.32

i will obviously also need a wireless card on my pc, can u make a suggestion as to which one will work well with that modem? I will probably go for the 7300G...thx

cool, I have bought from u before actually, I bought a 7300M way back last year :)
I am now in JHB. I did try those cheapy USB adapters. Needless to say, they r so crap, never really worked. I will pls need two of those adapters. One for a friend and one for me. Will that adapter also work with the 7300G? Whats the difference between the 7300G and 7300M that I bought?

I have a client which is using them together and it works.

The 7300M had better range over the 7300G.

We use Dawnwing for our door deliveries.

All our post office orders are insured for theft...

The 7300M not on the market anymore.

ok, so u happy to go PO? Seems cheaper anyways. Does it go Post Office to Post Office?
what make is that wireless card? Will it also work ok with the 7300M?

Well you saying things go missing with you so it does not sound like your post office is trustworthy :) But it is post office to post office which can take 5 to 7 days (it is the post office) with dawnwing delivery within 2 days of dispatch.

It should work with it as its standard wireless technology.

The wireless cards make is Airlive.

Considering the Billion is cheaper and I have only had 1 comeback and their support is amazing its up to you :P

@ terencevs, sorry barge in, but quickly want to ask:
what kind of range can i expect from a 7300G's wireless? Might get one myself at some point. Would these routers for example cover 20m through 2-3 walls? I don't care for speed, as the wireless usage will just be for internet, and you don't exactly need 54Mbps for a 384 line to get used to full capacity. When I do need that kind of speed for more network intensive tasks I will be closer. I just want to know that my PC or phone will get signal when I am out on the stoep.

Hi francoislr, I have not used the 7300G myself before, but from what I have heard it has good range.

Maybe some guys on the forum who have one could provide some details also maybe contact Billion support and they should be able to help you.

There is currently a stock shortage of the Billion 7300G and the Billion 7300N. BillionSA are expecting stock later next week...

Gotten...

I went ahead and got a Billion BiPac 7300G RA from a supplier who I drove by yesterday. Not tested the ADSL side yesterday, but I did test the wireless with an Asus EeePC, and so far I am not impressed. I have tried every possible way to access it, all the security types, and so far I have accomplished this:
3 of the times I have gotten it to connect. And it works beautifully, use it to remote access my pc. But the problem is, after 5 minutes it stops working. It works great when it does, but when it stops, there is no way for it to even make a connection unless I push the reset button to factory reset the thing.

I know I have always been cursed with wireless, but not this cursed. What am I doing wrong, or is this piece of hardware the thorn in my side? I am willing to take the label of cursed when it comes to wireless, but if it is the hardware, I will let everyone know. I am testing it tonight with a wireless card in my pc...
