So Telkom advised that our Adsl cables will not be replaced. I enquired about their LTE deals and was advised that they cannot offer me a contract on LTE because I do not have coverage according to their map.

I informed the consultant that I tested the coverage with a prepaid telkom sim and I do get LTE and speeds between 16-20Mbps. He said although I get coverage with the prepaid sim they cannot offer me a contract because they cannot guarantee the service.

His only suggestion was that I go the Telkom prepaid way for data. So it seems like I will have to look at some other service providers for data at a reasonable price now because it is clear that Telkom doesn't care at all.

And lose my 2000Gb of rollover data with Vox and will have to cancel my 300Gb @ R159 deal

Which other options are available to me that will offer me enough data at a reasonable price? I usually use around 200Gb for downloads, streaming of Netflix and Showmax

Check if Cell C has LTE in your area, they have 200GB for R845 through Axxess.

Get an Uncapped LTE contract on transfer from somebody that has it already, though they are very quick to be snapped up

Depending on the ratio of live services vs downloads, you could set up a 500gig LTE night-surfer with a normal LTE at one of the other providers for the essentials if its download heavy

What about trying out WiruLink or Skyfi.

Not sure what speed you had on your ADSL.

Downloads shouldn't be a problem. It is just all the streaming for Netflix, Showmax, etc cannot be done on the night-surfer.
