I am looking for an AM2 Mobo for around R700 hopefully with some basic overclocking features.

What can you recommend to me?

There is a nvidia 6100 AM2 foxconn thats sells @ R700 (incl VAT) at suppliers that should be able to do overclocking.

EDIT: And im using my R500 6100-based Biostar board (skt 939) to overclock my 3200+ (2GHz) too 2,5GHz if thats of any help.

ok cool...so biostar is not too bad then?

I can get this one for R750:
BIOSTAR GEFORCE 6100-M2 / NVIDIA GEFORCE 6100 + NFORCE 410 / DUAL CHANNEL DDR2 800 X4 / INTEGRATED GEFORCE 6100 GRAPHICS , ALC655 5.1-CH CODEC AUDIO & RTL8201BL 10/100M LAN / 2 X SERIAL-ATA 3GB/S W/NVIDIA RAID & ATA133 / PCI-E X16 , PCI-E X1, 2 PCI, / u ATX / UP TO 8 X USB V2.0

Ya I'm using my Foxconn 6150 939 board to OC my 3200+ to 2.6, as it says in my sig. :)
So i would say that's a promising option..

Yeah. Dont know if that baord is the same, but voltage options are limited on mine, to like .05V and .1V and .15V

For R760 or so you can get a Asus board very similar to the foxconn and biostar, expect that it used the N430 chipset so it has gigabit lan, high def audio and the 6150 IGP and a few other better features that a 6100 N410 based board.

I'd say its worth the extra R14 on that biostar board.

The onyl probablem with any AM2 board at the moment is that you need DDRII ram, which is crazily expensive right now.. its actualyl put me off so im going for 939 myself now.

FOXCONN® Socket AM2, GeForce 6100 +nForce 410, AMD Sempron™, Athlon™64, Athlon™64 x2, Athlon™64
FX processors, SocketAM2, 2000MT/ sHyperTransport™, Dual channel DDR2 533/667 x4 DIMMs, Max4GB,
1x PCI e x16,1x PCI e x1,2x PCI, IDE x2 + Serial ATAII x2 w/RAID 0,1,0+1, 5.1 channel, AC’97 interface
(Realtek), 10/100M LAN (Marvell), 8 USB 2.0 ports

So far this looks like the best buy - Its under R700

Thanks i will check it out.

Yes chipset has more features, but doesn't mean it OC's decently, ..trying to find a review at the mo..

Well it basically exactly the same chipset as a 410.. Overclocking should be about the same give that the board can OC okay. An Asus board should be a good buy, I doubt it can be much worse than the biostar pr foxxconn for overclocking.

And that onboard graphics is quite a bit better, in terms of features and a bit more speed. Gigabit Lan is nice too, and AC'97 is just terrible...

lol, exactly thats why he needs "high definition" sound on his mobo, even though it wont be nearly as good as a real card :p

But then again, not everyone gets great deals on 6800GS cards from nice people who they.. like.... thought how to play DOTA and stuff.

But seriously, im definately going 939 now, cause I can get a much cheaper board without good onboard sound or graphics.

hmmmm....going 939 is very tempting as I can use my current RAM

Also can get this board for R500:
FOXCONN® Socket 939 nVidia GeForce 6100 chipset + nForce 410 MCP, up to Athlon64 X2 4800 MT2000
Onboard VGA, PCIE, Onboard Sound, SATA, Raid, LAN, Micro ATX - OEM

I had a few graphics issues (my fav screensaver would display corrupted :o) with my Foxconn 6150 boards, thats why I went over to Biostar. Also only R500

Hey, I thought I might as well ask on this thread seeing as its pretty much on the subject.

I can get a foxconn AM2 board, not sure of the model but the cheap normal one im sure, with a 3500+ CPU and 512MB DDRII, which expensive atm
All for R1700, is this worth it? I cant quite work it out, its a bit cheaper than new I guess... Oh its second hand btw, but cant be too old.

I dont know what to get for my new PC anymore.. I want to go 939 and get a gig of ram for <R500, then I can afford so much more. I mean just buying the other 512mb stick to make that system 1gb will cost me more that a whole gig of DDR400, and its not like the performance is much better.
