Hi,

Since you can't find DroidTV MXIII anymore.. Was wondering what is the best android box to use lately.
Basically something with a remote that can manage files from a USB/External and sort it in a nice way.. ala the way Plex does with media on the server.

Your assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

I personally use a mini pc with ssd upgraded sony blu ray drive and a ps3 blu ray remote, looked at android but really not for me now i can load what i want and no problems, just need a 4k tv now....as my pc does support 4k.

While that's an option, it's for a gift and don't think me and xx are at the point where I'd give them a PC :D

I have 2 or 3 DroidTV MXIII boxes gathering dust somewhere in my house. I currently have the Fire TV 1st and 2nd Gen.

Don't buy a Chinese box: http://koditips.com/why-you-shouldnt-buy-a-kodi-box-from-china/

Seriously - they give tons of trouble and last about a year if you are lucky.

If you have to go android buy a proper one: https://www.tvaddons.ag/spring2016-androidtv/

Personally I upgraded to a Raspberry Pi running OMSC and never looked back. Its cheap, reliable, runs Netflix and all add-ons without issue.

Unless you have a very specific need for android I would go for the Pi every time.

Raspberry Pi all the way with the Pi 3 Model B SBC having builtin WiFi & Bluetooth you can't go wrong.
