Looking for the best burger around, these are my picks:

Clarke's - 133 Bree Street

The Woodlands Eatery - 2 Deer Park Drive, Vredehoek

Jamaican Me Crazy - 74 Roodebloem Road, Woodstock

You can trust me, i've eaten to many burgers for my own good :)

To add to the list:

Basic Bistro - Stellenbosch
Brandewyntuin Restaurant - Klipdrift Distillery in Robertson
Cafe Royale could also be a noteworthy mention, if it wasn't always busy/crowded

I have been to most.
Royale Eatery in long street wins every time.

fk now I want one.

Royale has a great selection, especially for veggies like me! they also have awesome sweet potato fries and I've heard their milkshakes are amazing!!

Pollsmoor Prison, no seriously we ate there this December in the mess hall and was one of the best burgers I have had

Anyone tried The Dog's Bollocks? Was closed when we visited last year.

And and and....The Dog's Bollocks! Only discovered the place in December, but have gone back twice since then.

The 'restaurant' is a bit out there and extremely, extremely basic! The restaurant is in an alley, as in, it is part of the alley...they use paper plates and if they run out, you get your burger in news paper. If you want ice in your drinks, then you have to go get it at the garage across the street. Doesn't sound to great, but the chef makes a limited amount of burgers every day and you'll understand why people go back or que "outside".
If you're uptight, stuck up, into fine dining or extremely timid, I wouldn't recommend it at all, but it is a truly different experience and adventure.

Other noteworthy mentions - for the food and the ambience
Rick’s Café Américain - somewhere in the cbd
Fire & Ice hotel - somewhere in the cbd (a bit pricey though)
The Odyssey Gastropub on Bree street - burger sliders (snack) and main was a tasteful experience
Beyerskloof restaurant (Stellenbosch) has a decent pinotage burger, whilst you do your wine tasting.

A friend had a burger at Speakeasy in Durbanville and it looked great.

SpeakEasy and Slug & Lettuce (opposite them) make awesome pizzas.

You vegan or vegetarian?

I thought both of these fed of attention.

Still haven't tried Dog's Bollocks, anyone know their opening times?

Every time I go there they're closed....

Ricks' Cafe is just off Kloof Street, the road that runs next to the lifestyle centre
Fire and Ice Hotel - at the Kloof Street end of Loop Street

Brandewyntuin Restaurant - Klipdrift Distillery in Robertson

A rare find but a lovely place to visit if you are in the area.

Wish I was staying over as I'd have loved to try their tasting.
