What is the best Business uncapped account to use Between Openweb, Afrihost, Cybersmart or Webafrica? There seems to be a considerable price difference between these ISP's and very little difference in restrictions from what I can see.

I'm looking for the best value for money but must be reliable. So doesn't have to be the cheapest but I don't want to pay more if I can get the same service at another ISP for less.

Telkom is out as you need to have a registered company to get there package. I won't use Mweb.

Anybody have any advice as what to go for?

Thanks.

Using Afrihost business uncapped (since the weekend on 10mbps) - works like a dream - VPN/SFTP/FTP/SSH traffic without any latency issues (had tons of disconnects with MWeb). Streaming of online content works great (now with 10mbps had no buffering yet) and online gaming is unproblematic.

Isn't the Axxess business just a rebranded afrihost account? What's the difference?

Same backbone, but separate company. Difference they are honest when there are issues when AH tries to cover them up and blame your line.

What's gonna be your usage like?

Actual business or just want an unshaped connection?

Will you be torrenting during the day?

Will you be home during the day?

Hi. I work from home. So will be for business use. I work normally from 8:00am to 11:00pm. I don't torrent at all. I do use filesharing sites sometimes like rapidshare, putlocker etc to send and receive files from clients. I mainly need decent speeds for day use though.

Thanks.

At work we use Web Africa's home account and for browsing, http downloads etc it's always full speed. Only problems we've experienced have been to do with the router and line. I would imagine their business accounts are much better!

How is it relevant? I don't have to own a french car to know they unreliable.
John Snow, is that you?

Of course it is relevant. Personal experience carries a lot more weight than somebody who bases their opinion on what they read on forums where people usually come to bitch about lack of service. Very few people go on forums to thank their service providers. We spend about R20 000 a month with Afrihost and have no complaints. Same goes for the Renault that's been in my family for 5+ years and that I've been driving for the last year. The only time the car didn't drive was when the battery died and when I burst the tyre by driving through a pothole.
