How long will the extension cable be? - if it's just a few metres then follow HavocXphere's advice.

If it's more than just a few metres then try using twisted pair copper cabling, or leave ADSL where it is and use RJ45 ethernet or wifi.

i agree, try cat5 or cat6 and just crimp rj11's to the ends. use the same colour eg. orange + orange/white

You could use "Monster cable" but that will suit the Hi-Fi better. Any quality telephone extension cable with all cores wired will work fine but Yeah the advise above is 100% correct! For surety I use cat5 self made extension cables plugged in router with the router at the phone cable entry point.

Always use a twisted copper pair between the ADSL router/modem and the Exchange.....Cat 5 cables after the router as network cables.
Using any other type of cable before the router can cause reflection and therefore attenuate your signal unnecessarily (differing conductor sizes). Cat5 should not be used before the modem, the twists are harder and the cable is designed with different characteristics in mind.

***Please dont use monster cables!!**** ::eek:

You can buy a telephone extension cable at most hardware stores, Incredible Connection and Telkom shops. I paid R50 for a 10m extension cable
