Best Camera for R4000

Buying a camera for a friend they have R4000 to work with. They are looking for a relatively compact easy to use nice camera. What would you recommend?

R4000 is just before an SLR i'de say. at least a body. i'de personally pay more for an SLR.

But since they want compact, i believe you would prob score yourself a very nice Nikon or Sony waterproof ultra slimline 10-12MP for that price.

got to a photo shop and check em all out, even if u not gonna buy from them. Cameras sometimes look nice on the Net but you find they dont do it for you when u use it physically.

I've never tried one but for R4000 I'd go for:

This one over the other IXUS' because it goes wider (equiv. 28-112mm vs 35-105mm etc)

I wish my friends bought me R4000 cameras

Waterproof would be a waste of time. She likes the look of the SX200 IS but not the flash that pops up and doesn't retract while the camera is on.

No look as in the entire package.

yeah got the H20 for my dad and he is enjoying it (he used to shoot on film SLRs)
