Best camera on android platform?

Was going to ruin my own life dismally (as you all would put it) and get the N8 because I am used to Nokia, and want the best camera on my phone.

So,

I hear that Nokia are likely to dump Symbian. Not that it makes a massive difference to me, but I kinda like being up to date.

So,

What's the phone on Android, that has the absolute best camera? Yeah, functionality and ease of use is also high on my list, as I'm pretty technologically.... challenged.

PLEASE don't flood me with 'HTC DESIRE HD' etc, because I'm pretty sure the camera on that thing isn't so hot. Plus I can't afford it or the 1gb data it sucks up monthly ;) :D
 
Not sure why you were going to ruin your life - the N8 is a great phone. Symbian will still be supported for a few years, and by the time Nokia dumps it, it will be time to upgrade anyway.
 
Yep, must be the X10. The Desire HD has the same resolution (8MP) but reviews say the quality isn't so good. The Xperia has it's flaws, but the camera kicks ass.
 
im in exactly the same situation. was going to upgrade my satio to n8, but then nokia lost the plot. im now moving to android. im waiting for the Sony Ericsson Arc. has a really good 8mpx camera with same sensor as their digicams and Bravia powered screen.

Will definitely look at this one. My 'upgrade' is in March, expires in May, hopefully out by then or near enough.

I got the x10. Camara rocks....SE sucks cause they dont want to upgrade to android 2.2 and they strip out microsoft exchange server support.
 
It is indeed the X10, but that's old now, rather wait for the XPERIA Arc as said above, it's sensor is even better than the X10's, and has a proper flash, X10 had a photo ligh you had to turn on in Settings.

I'm using Cyanogen with MIUI Theme and this phone just flys, absolutely no slowdowns, and i cant remember when last i killed apps, SE should have released Froyo for the X10 as it performs incredibly well with it, this phone is a whole new beast with 2.2.1.
