As the title suggests. I'm looking for a affordable laptop that is good. Preferable a core2duo or i3 - in that range.

Thanks so long

A budget always helps ;) Affordable is relative :D

Well you know, as cheap as it gets! I dunno yet what I'll be getting, I'm selling my pc, and then buying a notebook. Lets say between R4000 and R5000, but as LOW as POSSIBLE!

HP Compaq 615 w/ AMD Turion 2.1GHz dual core, 1GB RAM (you should upgrade to 2/3GB), 160GB HDD, 15.6" LCD, etc.

Goes for about R4600.

Got the above mentioned one... Great, just make sure your using Win 7, and not Vista. But it's awesome for office, internet, movies and even light gaming (Fifa 09, COD 5) and some Hd movies.

I'm also looking for a little el cheapo. Like a netbook. Something just good enough to to surf with and code web apps with.
But I cringe at the thought of paying more than 2 grand. Yes, I'm really cheap. ;)

Not sure of where you at, but if u in Durban or close by, then check out PC Zone for some really great prices. Their service is terrible though, but returns are pretty good.

LOL @ the i-Play. Don't forget it also supports Afrikaans :)

OP, I don't know where you're based but PC Zone has an HP Compaq 615S for R3999 (or R4099 if it's not a cash purchase)
AMD Athlon Dual Core X2 QL-66
1GB RAM
160GB Hard Drive
ATI Mobility HD3200
SD/MMC Slot
2MP Webcam
Bluetooth
15.6" Display
Windows 7 Home Basic
