Currently with Mweb, pulling between 200gb and 300gb a month.

Would like to use the same connection at the office during the day.

I've heard many IS based accounts allow this, but the throttling puts me off.

Does OpenWeb Gold allow concurrent connections?

look at it this way.
if you were an ISP, would you create an account that could be used to pull 400gig while costing the same as one you could pull only 200gB?
for that reason i doubt you'll find one, and if you do it will cost more than 2 separate single cc accounts

Axxess Just Uncapped 4096 is R496 for two concurrent connections.

There are many different types of internet users. The ISP's create uncapped accounts to suite all shapes and sizes.

If Mweb can do it, why can't another ISP? I don't download in the day, just at night, therefore a single account to use at two sites suits me.

Just need something that allows more than one location while still giving enough leeway for large downloads.

How is the shaping on the AXXESS account?

Try it for a month. You can cancel until the 25th. None of Mwebs calendar month notice BS.

I shared it with a friend and we both did about 100 GB. Worked ok, no major complaints.

Can't say, wasn't actively gaming then.

Basically try it for a month and see how it works for you. You can cancel easily (online in fact) so the risk is minimal.

I was in The Old Republic beta, Mweb game latency of up to 170ms, which was amazing.

Will give it a go in the new year, thanks for the info.

I'm referring to Axxess not Mweb.

Yes I realise that, was just saying Mweb has good gaming latency, would be a bonus if Axxess did too. Will give Axxess a go in the new year.

Btw the trick with this type of account is to not start downloading 24x7 from the 1st.

Hmm, my downloads are automated, so it grabs stuff as they become available. Will have to check it out.

Shaping on the IS accounts will be way worse than Mweb if you're going to download a lot. IS has a rolling window thing for their shapnig.

indeed. i heard if you stagger your downloads (ie download one day then skip downloading for 2, rinse repeat) you can stay out of that top 20 bracket they have some samgma seeing in the bones. don't know if there's any truth in that?

Srack0verflow:
I don't think that will work, since they use a 10 day window and not a 2 day one.

Only with Telkom & WebAfrica's uncapped offerings you really know how its being shaped/throttled.

Can you do concurrent connections on Web Africa uncapped?
