Ok so im back in SA. Tried the local 384 k telkom account got about 700 + ms Switched to Axxes got about 300 + ms. How can i now get better MS im looing for about 250 stable. Should i get faster internet or go 3 g or any other way should i use gamer max with mny setup . Please can u guys help as u all been playing long on SA internet.

Thx

so many of these threads.... rather just be grateful, 300ms is fantastic

You can try gamemax.org. I found it to be CRAP in raids. Lag spikes, dc's etc. Its utterly hopeless for me, very disappointed. 230ms stable when solo, sucks in raids, and will probably end up cancelling it this month.

But it might work out for you.

Getting a faster line wont change anything, 384 is the way to go

If you're getting 300ms without the registry hack then you're super lucky. You should easily get to 250ms stable if you apply that (just the first bit).

Also, for me lately, I've been finding SAIX unshapped to be a bit faster than my unshapped IS from Axxess. I'm getting 350ms from Axxess IS and 250-300 via SAIX unshapped.

How's this.. just forked out a decent bit of cash for my new gaming rig... getting delivery this week so am totally amped! Except that telkom is going into week 3 of being unable to replace the cables stolen by some ignorant a-holes.

Computer - tick
Graphics card - tick
Internet connection - XXXXXXX

the latency is also determined by which server you play on, they all have different locations and different routing applied, for example on my main server Ravenholdt i get around 300-350ms, on my friends server bronze dragonflight, i never go above 270 ever. And that is running unshaped webafrica, no registry hacks nothing, plain line (4mbit). Personally i dont believe just having 384 is decent, because the second your line starts using team speak or vent, that 38KB/s is not adequate. I use team speak and my lag still doesnt even move, thou my friend with 384 when he uses it, he starts to get a bit of latency. But its all down to personal expierence i guess, some people it happens to , some it doesnt.

My advice would also be to go to a few servers to roll some low toons to see what the server is like before you play there for good. another example, spinebreaker is laggy as hell, i would get like 500-600ms there with unshaped. Terrible latency.

Bronze dragonflight is well populated but the maturity level on that server is something to be desired.

Ravenholdt has been around for many years, i have been on there since oct 2006, and will never budge, the raiding is top notch on that server. its a RPPVP server, so you can pvp and RP and PVE. The que waits for PVP are minimal , longest ive ever waited was a bout 4mins.
