Best Core 2 duo option

I've been an AMD guy for my last three pc's ... but the time has come to upgrade and Intel seem to be best option option.

My question is which one of the core 2 duo's based on SA prices gives the best price performance ratio?

e6300/e6320 is good performace vs price

if you have some cash though the e6600 is the undisputed king of price vs performance

also you will want a good board and overclock these cpu's, thats where their value really lies, most core 2 are only slightly better than their amd counterparts but once you start upping the FSB they shove their foot so far up amd's ass

telkom maybe just wait awhile though next 6 months new amd cpu's are out hopefully, although if its anything like ATI maybe early 2008

You can get the value Core 2 Duo E2160 from R910 to stuff way up there in the high thousands. The E2160 or E6420 is probably the best in performace to price ratio...

thanks guys I'll think about it over the weekend...i'll probably go for the e6300. Hopefully when I upgrade again AMD will have something worthwhile on the table.

I'd wait a bit till AMD bring out their new chip and decide then. Unless you really have to upgrade now. In that case the E6320 or E6420 would be fine with a decent mobo.

The best of the best is either the Core 2 Extreme X6800 2.93GHz or the Intel Core 2 Quad QX6700 2.66GHz...
