Best CPU air cooler within R650

Hey all

As the title states Im in need of a new/used CPU cooler for overclocking my 2500k!

Any suggestions are welcome - I really dont know much about the quality of the 100s of air coolers out there.

Also - please let me know your opinion on the http://www.thermalright.com/html/products/cpu_cooler/silverArrow_sb-e_extreme.html - I can pick it up for about R700 2nd hand. It seems a good deal?

Either go Noctua or go home (when it comes to air coolers). Or just get a CM 212 (which goes for +-R350). Anything in between these 2 products isn't worth it.

Get the CM Hyper 212, brought my i7 920 down from over 90 load to 55. Huge dofference, specially at that price point, it competes with the h60.

I have a CM Hyper 212+, it was really cheap, easy to install and works amazingly. It's uber quiet on low RPMs, and running normally I get idle temps of about 30 on my 2500k. Overclocking to 4.2GHz jumped the temps up to about 60.

Yup, another CM Hyper 212+ user here. The thing works like a dream. Almost blew 4 four times as much cash on a Noctua (which is awesome) but complete overkill for Sandy/Ivy bridge overclocks if you're going <= 4.7Ghz.

Definitely seems the 212 seems the way to go - I wont be taking it past 4.5 Ghz anytime soon.

I see youve got the 212 turbo (the push-pull) version - is there any noticeable difference in sound when throwing on the extra fan? My pcs on my desk and extra noise can be annoying.
