What's the lowest cost per MB bundle that is reliable right now? I've previously used the Telkom Mobile 60GB+60GB and the Cell C 50GB+150GB data bundles which are both R1800.

I want to use my iPad Air as a Wifi hotspot but it takes a nano sim and the Cell C R1800 data deal comes preloaded on a normal sim card. I'm not sure I want to risk trying to cut it down to nano sim size. TM's 60GB+60GB deal was consistently faster and more reliable that Cell C when I used it but that was a year ago.

What would you recommend? I'm willing to look at a 24 month contract (sim only) as well if the price is right.

I have the CellC 12 Month Contract, 5GB+15GB. It is perfect and dont have any problems.

When I took the contract, they asked me what device I will be using so they know which sim card to use and load the contract onto. Even if you prefer to opt for the once off fee, I think you could go in to a store and do a sim swap onto a nano sim.

I took out the 2+3GB contract from Cell C for R99, and they also asked me which sim I wanted.

Great. Thanks guys I will ask them for a a nano sim with my data bundle then.

I think in terms of fast speed always then 8ta/Telkom Mobile might be your best bet... Cell C is good if the tower is close and not congested and because of the lowish prices the towers are usually congested.

Many factors play an important factor on speed. Depends on the how many users are connected to the base station & how fare are you. I wouldn't commit to any contract just yet.. If you've the funds available buy an outright card 60gig tm or cell c.

Why not? Try it, and if it doesn't work do a SIM swap.

I wouldn't recommend it. My last time I had endless glitches and especially annoying - no sound. Tried to fault find for days and out of pure luck, I removed the SIM card to use another - PRESTO - all back to normal.

To answer the OP's question, have you considered Afrihost Mobile Data? At least you're going to get the best LTE experience with the best LTE coverage. An iPad is unaffected by the "no cellular connection" that plagues cell phone users.

Thanks for this. Sounds like a good option.
