Hi there.

Was wondering if anyone could recommend best storage. Probably a hard drive bay. I need to archive a 26 episode televisions series with each EP being about 600Gig.

If you are archiving and it is indeed 600GB per episode then I would much rather look at a tape solution.

I picked up a second hand HP tape library recently for a bargain, it can hold 24 LTO4 tapes (800GB uncompressed each) which gives me around 19.2TB of easily accessible archiving space. This would be sufficient for your needs.

These solutions are generally very pricey but if you can find a secondhand one at a good price it would definitely be worth while.

The only problem with tape is that it would degrade just sitting on the shelf, also we don't have any decks anymore. If we play out we use a third party.

But thanks for the heads up :))

Would depend, if OP is in Post Production [assuming we not talking torrents and whatnot] and he has a RAW file, HDTV 1080i/1080p Resolution 1920x1080, 1 Min would be roughly 7GB, assuming normal 60 Min you would be looking at 420GB per episode.

at OP, I would recommend a large NAS server, something like the following for storage and redundency

Sparhawk that is great thanks. Yes you are correct, they are FCP 7 projects but it also includes external media but you are right about a Gig a minute is right.
