Have you tried sending content from a device running Chrome browser to the Chromecast? I have to choose between ATV or Chromecast. Chromecast makes more financial sense as I already have a Roku 3 for netflix, Plex, hulu ect but need something to watch live streams via my TV. I almost purchased the Apple TV but then watched some reviews of the Chromecast and if it does what it says it can do, then will go that route but just need someone to confirm that it will work as I want it to.

Get the Chromecast. Browser tab streaming works pretty well. I think you'll be able to watch a bigger variety of streams using the Chromecast than using Airplay on the ATV as not all inline streaming players allow you to use Airplay which means you'll have to Airplay the entire screen and then you can't use the device for anything else.
I did find that certain streams on the Chromecast (when casting tabs) were a bit jerky but mostly pretty watchable.
Ahhh perfect thanks. Yeah I will mainly use NTV (if they deliver a purely sports package) or maybe give Futubox another go. Don't want to buy an Android player and use xbmc ect - MORE than happy with my Roku 3 and Plex, netflix, Hulu. literally just need a device that I can send the streams to TV.
Do you know of any other places that sell the Chromecast? I see TakeAlot sell them for R679 which I know is alot more but I if I try ordering from overseas it works out to just over R550 so I'd rather pay the extra R100 and get it locally.

See if you can't pick up a voucher code (check the Takealot vouchers thread: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/563837-Takealot-Vouchers-Thread/page20). I got R50 of mine in December but I see the price has gone up since I got mine (was R619 and R569 with voucher discount).
Yeah I have been waiting for a voucher to appear but doesn't seem like there will be one anytime soon. Will give it another day or two and if nothing then will just order it at full price. My main concern was whether it will for for what I intend on using it for.
