Best DSLR bundle for R5000

The 600d has some advantages for shooting video in that it can take an external mic and has a flip-out screen. On the other hand the 1200d has the advantage of having video auto-focus.

The decision will depend on what is most important to you.

Why not the D3200? It's only slightly more.

Canon's STM lenses are going to be a better choice if video is important. Sure, the 600D does not have the on-sensor PDAF to really maximize video AF performance, but you can always upgrade to a 700D down the line while keeping the STM lenses.

The 600D bundle (linked above) does not appear to come with an STM lens, so maybe shop around for another bundle?

I agree .. if you're set on Canon & specifically looking at video you should consider something just above your budget like the 100D with STM lens.

Search the secondhands for a Canon 650D . Get a STM lens for it . ODP , Kameraz , ORMS etc. And have a look at Magic Lantern to run alongside the standard Canon OS.

Indeed tried USM lenses for video - you hear that AF grinding away !
