Hi All.

I'm busy assisting my brother in selected a Fibre ISP.

The choices are:

1. Vox
2. Iconnect
3. XDSL
4. Cool Ideas

I'm tempted to go for IConnect as they are the cheapest, however I'm not too familiar with them.
Anyone currently using them? whats your experience been with them?

Thanks in Advance!

I've used XDSL before for our office, their service was solid but when the lines went down everything went down including their phones (because they use their own Voip system which is dependent on their network) and you would have no one to follow up with. But that happened very very rarely (the fiber going down) so i wouldn't worry too much about it. Only left them because we got a better offer elsewhere

Has anyone used ISP Afrika? We are locked with them at century city, but not sure how they are.

I will comment on Vox FTTH when I get set up next month. So far their process has been very very professional. Have had multiple personal calls from the FTTH manager with status updates and the like.

Looks like Fibrehoods? All those (other than XDSL) are month to month, so, you(your brother) won't be stuck with one for years. Feel free to try out and jump from one to the other if problems pop up. Personally, I went with Vox, but have heard nothing but amazing service comments about iConnect. I think the month to month options are going to create excellent service levels for us:)

I have Cool Ideas on Vumatel. 50/50mbits. Locally I can get that day long - even more.

I'm not too impressed with International speeds. I'll give it a month or three.

Not saying it is slow, just that I expected more. CI is month-to-month and cheap.

Shouldn't be locked. All CCC residential contracts should be month to month as of June 2015. You have various options of ISP's.

I have absolutely no complaints about Cybersmart. Top management, including the founder of the Cybersmart, were extremely patient and helpful in assisting me to contract with them.

I've heard people complaining about their other offerings, but the fibre offering has really good service.

Also since I've had it installed in February, it hasn't gone down once, and when I complained about my latency, it was resolved within the hour.

+1 for Vox for me as well... although I am running Afrihost on my Telkom fibre with no issues... blitz vinnig.
