So I finally started banking using the Standard Bank app and it's so convenient and easy that it's a little scary.

So what are the best free security apps available for Android?

I have an older Samsung Galaxy A30 which doesn't receive system updates anymore.

Check on your Samsung / Phone /Settings /Device Care ...?
Do you have the inbuilt security ....?
(See screenshots)
If you do ,enable it .

Thanks, yeah I was aware of that.

But like I said I have an old phone so don't get updates anymore, so my security software will be outdated at some point and then the phone will be vulnerable to new threats.

I tried BitDefender but realised I had to pay, so after those 14 days expire I am going to go with Avast which is free.

Edit: LOL, just as I posted that I got an update for my phone, perfect timing. Will still go with Avast unless performance is affected in some way.

I use to have Norton paid ,think you can use basic free version ,not sure .
The i also use Malwarebytes (free )
It nagged me to buy at one stage, but i kept on using, its free features ..

Just a tip ,
I found that
A lot of these free ,3 rd party security apps,
( i used in past )
can actually slow phone down ..
Good luck .

Yeah haven't noticed a slow down which is good.
For the Avast free version they just have ads, which I can put up with. It's very unobtrusive so great so far. Can bank a little more relaxed now :)
