Hi Guys,

So I have been contemplating getting the S7 and thus looking at the various deals available. I found a few deals but generally nothing really that works. I also see MTN has quite an interesting 36 month option but it means having the phone for 3 years.

So the two options I have narrowed it down to is Telkom for R599 on the smart plan 100 and R449 on the MTN choice 100 for 36 months.

Has anyone else found a better deal?

Go with Telkom.

3 years to pay off a device with a sealed battery? S6 already has below par battery life - imagine half way through the third year and you will still be stuck with a monthly debit order. Rather you than me

Why are these phones getting more expensive with each release? The S7's launch pricing is ridiculous. So much so that I'm going for one of last year's models (S6 or G4).

I highly doubt it

It does

Edit: S6 deals showing 36 months - No S7 in the book but it should be the same - I read an article about the 36 month contracts when it was extended to Samsung that stated the Samsungs will all have 36 month warranties

Do you guys think the 36 month guarantee will cover battery replacement?

I've been proved wrong once, let's make it 2 for 2

I say no because the battery will "wear down" from 2 years of charge cycles which is normal. I'll bet they would give it the big "warranty does not cover normal wear and tear besides ADH in first year"

If I recall correctly, many cell phone manufactures only gave 1 year warranty on batteries... Haven't cared about it recently to check as I don't keep a phone for long anyway :p

I know laptops that have a 3 year warranty only have a 1 year warranty with HP and Lenovo. Don't know about the rest
