Hey all,
Whats is the best gaming desktop i can get for under R10000

Read from post 1407 onwards, substitute the GTX970 for a GTX960 or R9 380.

You can also opt for a 1TB Western Digital blue drive instead of the 3TB Seagate & also drop the SSD then keep the GTX970 which is what I would do as it's the GPU that determines how many FPS you get and what settings you can run at. You can always get a SSD later.

R1600 - CPU - i5-4590
R152 - Cooler - CoolerMaster X Dream
R888 - RAM - 2x Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB 1600MHz CL10
R749- HDD - Western-Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
R699 - PSU - Corsair VS550
R4999 - GPU - Galax GeForce GTX 970 EXOC Black Edition
R500 - Chassis - Cooler Master K280

R10260

You could probably shave a few rand off by using cheaper ram, cheaper chassis etc

Oh another GPU option is the R9 390 8G at R4899, http://www.wootware.co.za/powercolo...it-pci-express-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

Bought something similar to the above a few months ago and I've been VERY happy. Witcher 3 + Farcry 4 both run like a dream.

Did put in a 256SSD instead of the hard drive - that makes a big difference.

Where would you get that CPU at that price?

Where would you get that cpu at that price? Is it a private re-seller?

All the items have links, just click on the link or http://carbonite.co.za/f39/intel-core-i7-4790-intel-core-i5-4590-processors-101382/

It's a private seller, he gets batches of new i5&i7 oem tray cpus and sells them on, reputable seller. Being an oem tray cpu it does not come with a heatsink/fan, you will have to source your own.

Edit: Sorry I think you might have to be registered on Carbonite in order to open the link (not sure), my bad.

This.

Don't know how someone could build a 10grand PC and leave that out. I'd rather sacrifice GFC card or CPU than SSD.

SSD is not gonna increase the fps in games, spend as much as you can on the gpu. You can still get a ssd 2-3 months down theroad if you save up.

QFT

I added one to my build too. Best upgrade ever. The only thing is that now my work laptop annoys the schitt out of me cause it's so slow. First world problems.
