Best GPU for 2k

I need some advice on what GPU to buy. I don't want to spend more than 2.2k.

I was looking at ATI 6850... and recommendations will be helpful.

6850, sometimes cheaper brand 6870's are around that price.

yes reason y I only posted ati 68** is because it is inline with the newest cards & 1 can get at the same price of an nvidia a better ati card.

Yes.

6850 is generally cheaper for the same performance.

6850 > GTX460 768MB
6850 = GTX460 1GB

Yes, the GTX460 supports DX11 and shader model 5.0.

The ASUS ENGTX460 1Gb is R1 960 (or R2 200 for a quicker CUDA speed and core memory). The 768mb version (not recommended) is R1 900.

We also stock the Sapphire HD6850 Toxic for R2 100. And HD6870 for R2250.

Personally I would rather buy from online shops in/close to my area - makes warranty returns easier, faster, and sometimes cheaper.

Agreed. The longer hauls when it comes to warranties from Jhb (had one from Limpopo) does become quite a mission!

sapphire 6870 @ 2250 is pretty decent as it's not a lot slower than a 5870 that cost about 3500

Prophecy (but you pay for service (and perhaps reputation)) and for cheaper, Sybaritic (you'd probably want to return your product direct to the supplier/distributor ).
