Best Graphics card for R2000.

its 7600 sli thats why

considering that 2 7600 gt's will set you back as much as a 7900gt which is slightly slower than 7600 sli doesnt make sense to sli 2 7600gt :)

It doesnt really ever make much sense to SLI. Surely for the price of those two cards you can get a better single card?

Unless you are buying two of the best cards around..

And LOL @ 3D Mark, that thing is useless. Theres no point looking at 3D Mark scores, because it doesnt really reflect the cards performance in games half of the time, you can never be sure with 3D mark scores..

Ha Ha HA. You are kidding killadoob right? If so good one :D

GF7900GT is EOL and is being stopped in favor of 7950GT that's why it's occupying the same price point as 7900GT did before.
Comparison is between 7950GT and X1950, not X1950 and 7900GT. :/

Okay but what price is the 7950GT? because a X1950Pro should be R2000, just like the X1900GT.

Im pretty sure nay 7950GT will cost more than that.

Im not really sure about the 7950GT's performance off the top of my head.. do you know if it is much better than a 7900GT?

yes it is. Clocked 100MHz faster on the core and 70MHz on the memory.
It's faster. :D

The X1950Pro should be R2,000 but it isn't.
With ATI products it's not the product itself, but the timing that is usually off, like in this case. :/

But the X1950Pro IS R2000.. You can get it for R2150 from wantitall.co.za and once it gets in SA im sure most online traders can beat that price.
thats for a Sapphire anyway. It retails for $199.. and the Asus is only $165, surely it will be R2000?

But ja, there timing isnt the best, they finally have a product to really compete with ATI's mid/upper range and its just before DX10 comes out, so people arent really buying as many cards.

So do you think the 7950GT is better performance/price ratio? Im sure it will be more than the X1950, but I wonder how much faster..

Hmm.. heres the 7950 for R4400 at Sybaritic.. it is the 512mb version though, but still a very high price.

Go on splash out. Rofl. Quite a price difference.........

I think that 7950 is the GX2 with 2 chips. The 7950 that was referred to earlier is the 7950GT which is just an upgrade of the 7900GT and the 7950GT slots in between the 7900GT and the 7900GTX. Pricing wise, it will set u back about the same as a 7900GT which it is replacing.

Yes it's the GT, but do get the 1950 I can't see there being a point in spending more than that on a GFX card at this time.

BTW: GEFORCE 8 WILL RELEASE IN 7DAYS!

7 days OMW!
Going to be a bit pricey though eh?
Especially seeing as you can get the Asus X1950 Pro for R1828.......... which will do damage to any 7900GS for a lot less money.

Hm.. well I'll wait and see what the Geforce 8 series are priced like before buying, but I doubt whether it will provide better price/performance right now.

But in a few months it will.. hmm, I just cant really wait a few months right now.

Maby ill just buy one once the middle range start getting sold second hand for cheap in a few months.

Yeah dude how can you just say NewEgg ? :(
7900GS is also sub R2K :)

Anyway buying GFX card for 3K+ is not sensible, but at the 2K mark you don't really have a choice. 8600 will only show up next year Feb/March or April with 8900 :/

Either way don't look for the 8600 in the next 7DAYS.

The GF8 is performing well even under this expired OS and DX9.
Performance on GTX is better than 2xX1950XTX and definitely faster than Quad SLI. Not bad but it's amassive car as you've ssen.

I'll settle for the 8800GTS :D

Well I dont think much will be better than a X1950Pro at R1800 in SA.

Hmm so an extra R200 to spend on my system, yay. maby I can actually go with that AM2 board and a gig of DDRII ram... hmm.
