BEST HDTV

Full HD is the way to go if you're sitting around three times the screen height for a full-blown movie experience. That might be a bit close for 7de Laan, but then you wouldn't need Full HD for that :)

Despite all the pros here for plasma, they still haven't solved the noise issue, even on the latest sets now in stores. Even on a paused image, flat, static areas are fuzzy and in constant motion. Plus they get hot and use a lot more power. I like LED.

From which viewing distance are you perceiving this noise? Definitely closer than 3 times the diagonal methinks. So what's the issue? Have you seen a 1080p plasma running a PC desktop?

Around twice as much power as LED-LCD, but it wouldn't have a huge effect on the electricity bill.

Basically two non issues for the most part if you ask me...

If you're using it for a PC, then yes, definitely closer than 3 times the screen height (didn't say diagonal - picture height changes depeding on aspect ratio of source), and the noise would be far more objectionable, as, while I type this on my 1080p monitor, I expect the static areas of the screen to remain static.

Power consumption is an issue for me, as is heat generation, but not as much as picture quality.
