I'm currently using the Byet Hosting Premium service buy they pissing me off cos I have to pay $20 just to enable SSL, screw that...

I'm looking at alternatives, I've found a few, but wondering which you guys think are the cheapest, but with quality:

I'm looking at JustHost.com, goDaddy...

Been using www.godaddy.com for years. Very happy with them. The link in my sig is hosted with them if you wanna do quick speed check on page loading.

GoDaddy is actually hosting my domain name, but I dont like the look of their control panel, im so used to cpanel... What do you think of it?

If it is essential that you get billed in Rands and have some South African connection then a list at hostinghelp might help. But most of the international hosting offered by South African companies is reseller accounts anyway (except IS?).

The list of hosting providers in the US is massive, but with so much to choose from it makes it difficult to choose. I went with these guys called SharkSpace because they were cPanel, relatively cheap and choice of 2 data centers. Rackspace is reputable, Price?

I found http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ useful

One.com

I've been using www.one.com/nl/ for several years now. Never had a problem.
When I joined I got 25Gb web space with Unlimited/uncapped bandwith for 59 Euro per year.
It includes POP/SMTP/MySQL-PHP, FTP and simple interface.

Hostgator.com is the best international host. They have the best support in the industry.
Once you go Gator, you will never ever go to another host ever again. Guaranteed.
