Morning guys,

Looking for advice on a good free or paid sip phone app that works well on IOS, and isnt Zoiper. Zoiper seems to work great on andriod, even on the free version, but trying the free version on iPhone isnt blowing my hair back, and not convinced the paid version will be worth while - and there doesnt seem to be a free trial to test it out.

My main issues with Zoiper is it cant run properly in the background. The app must always be open in order to receive calls. Secondly, when switiching from cellular to wifi (like coming back to the office/home after being out), it often looses connection and then doesnt automatically reconnect unless I remember to close and re-open the app. same seems to happen when you are on cellular and the go through a patch of bad signal.

Any suggestions?

Sorry just noticed the typo in the title - not sure how to fix that. looking for Sip Phone App recomendations, not siphone recomendations

Am I perhaps posting in the wrong sub forum? Thought by now someone would suggest something.

Will getting the paid version of Zoiper solve my issues on iPhone? My worry is there is no 7 day trail or whatever, and on an android phone I had no need for the paid version, as it worked fine as long as it was open in the background. So don't want to pay for Zoiper only to find it still doesn't work properly on IOS

Acrobits Softphone.

Anything else is crap that chews your battery or goes to sleep and misses calls.

Thanks. This looks like it might be just what I need @PaulMurkin
Sorry, I might have been wrong about this one. Seems 3CX is way more functionality than I will ever need, and I can't figure out how to set up my existing VOIP line from Euphoria on the platform of app. I only need a single line connected. So this is way too much for me. Going to try Acrobits as suggested above

To my knowledge in the VOIP space before you can use your Soft phone app you to have a hosted backend telephony for infrastructure first with all SIP configuration setup. Then only the service provider you are using will enable you to use their app to make calls on the your mobile app. It’s quite involved, this is normal done in business. So by just giving you a brand name it doesn’t do justice to your question.

No Yabana,

the SIPphone/Softphone and your telephony provider are two seperate things. sort of the same as your web hosting provider and your email client are seperate things.

My website and email are hosted by xneelo, but I use Outlook on my computer to access my email.

Just like Euphoria provides my VOIP service, but I can use many different compatible softwares.

back on topic of this thread, I actually started using Euphorias own Softphone app, and it works really well - however I do think it only supports VOIP accounts hosted by Euphoria
