Best iPhone 11 contracts in SA

Apple recently launched its new iPhone 11 lineup, which is set to be available in South Africa from 27 September 2019.

The devices sport enhanced camera systems as well as the manufacturer's new A13 Bionic chipset, which Apple said delivers much better performance and battery life than its previous-generation processor.

It is awful that we get an effective forex rate for these phones of 21.46 : 1. That is just unbelievable and it doesn't make sense how Saffas can still afford things like this. iPhone 11 64GB for sale at US$699 but here we pay R14999. Just awful. Could have been R8500 if Forex Exchange rate was still 12:1 and we had less import duties.

As someone pointed on elsewhere, if one were to actually fly to New York buy an iPhone 11 Max 512GB, it would only cost you (flights and cost of phone included) R200 more than buying it locally from Core.

And you get a holiday in the Big Apple.

Insane.

$1450 (R21750) in the States, vs R32,399 here.

Leaving R10,649 + R200 for the ticket.

Don't forget the $160 fee for the tourist visa.
Yeah sure, unless someone maybe already has a 10-year visa.

And also have to include accommodation and food. In fact, since the price of the phone is the same all over the USA, it would make sense to find a cheap flight to a cheaper area (North Dakota?) and save on travel expenses.

Or just go for Hawaii. YOLO.

This just show how expensive living in SA can be. It's not just the iPhone. Everything is unreasonably expensive here compared to most countries.

Except the biggest thing you'll buy, your house.

MTN does have the iPhone 11 on contract now.
R799 seems to be the cheapest.

$699 excludes sales taxes.

So try $761 after you bought it in New York.

Therefore R11 422 if you bought it there right now and ignored the much smaller market we have and related support and warranty services etc that are required to offer you the product here.
