Hi,

I am getting my 4MB ADSL line installed shortly and would like to know who offers the best service (i.e. ping-times/latency) and price?

Some people say to go with Telkom - if so, with what package and why?

Right now I am leaning towards WebAfrica, Openweb or Telkom...

I'd advise an IS Semi-Shaped account via Nexus.

It's unshaped after hours - 17:00-07:00, I think - as well as weekends and public holidays. In LotRO I have about 100ms less latency than with SAIX/Telkom.

I like Nexus a lot, so that's a personal choice. But the IS Semi-Shaped account will be the same regardless of which ISP you choose. I think OpenWeb offers it as well. WebAfrica are still in the process of figuring out whether they want to or not.

SAIX Unshaped or IS Semi-Shaped account for the best ping-times/latency. Does not matter with who you take it btw - they are all just reselling the same products. http://www.nexus.co.za/ Gets and honorary mention though re: IS Semi-Shaped accounts - look for their ISDSL Plus accounts afaik.
