Hi Guys,

PLEASE HELP !!!
I am in the market for a new ISP that will give me the best download speeds for accessing an international site. The site is www.icenetwork.com (based in the US)and I'm experiencing quite a lot of buffering which renders the video almost unwatchable through Flashplayer.Due to geographical restrictions no one outside of the US can access content from this site.I have engaged the services of a VPN (Hidemyass) which will connect me to a server in the US so they don't pick up my SA IP address.Unfortunately, I am suffering with speed.Currently, I am able to access Netflix and YouTube without buffering and my son also watches soccer on Supersport without a problem.

I live in a small town in the Eastern Cape that I think has only 1 exchange with 10mbps capacity. My current ISP gives me a 4mbps line with a 15GB cap.

Locally - download 8.49 Mbps, upload 0.84 Mbps
Internationally - download 1.07 Mbps, upload 0.08 Mbps

Thanks
Keith

tunlr is not meant to be used permanently, it's even stated on their website.

Stick with Unotelly.

Hi There,
Unotelly seems on most of the forums to be the best route to follow.

If you move do let us know if it works better.

Hi Guys, thanks for your input and advice.I have contacted my VPN service provider who has given me a tool that enables me to search for the fastest available server in the US automatically. This works well in most cases but when I have been connected to a slower one I disconnect and reconnect again which works.

Unotelly does look good and I will be giving it a try as soon as I have a bit more time.I have been wanting to ditch my DSTV subscription for sometime as I have little time to watch it any way.Figure Skating was on regularly on ESPN but has not been for a few years which for me makes it even more pointless to have DSTV.

Thanks guys once again.

You don't want a US server...you want a UK server. Undersea cables go to Europe, not US.

But yes, unotelly is likely a better bet. I'm told it doesn't work on Telkom though (transparent proxy).
