Best ISP for OpenServe?

Hi

Any recommendations for isps /deals for OpenServe in Joburg?

I want a 500/250 service, not bothered about a free paper weight (cheapo router).

I would ideally like to get the line installed before Monday (if possible?)....

I won't use Webafrica or Afrihost (I just read that Cool Ideas is owned by Afrihost... So you can add that to my avoid list) .... I am scared of clowns.

Been using Afrihost for decades and have only gotten good service.

Clowns?

We still operate completely independent of Afrihost.

Afrihost really runs a great business. They had a lot of struggles in the MTN days. Which is why they got out of that situation.

Axxess has been adequate. Not awesome, not crap. Just gave me what i paid for. One of the only isps that allow payment via EFT. I don't do debit orders for prepaid services except short term insurance

Yeah MTN is why I moved all my connectivity away...... I generally only have good things to say about Afrihost.... But the last week has taught me that I have just been lucky.

It's when it goes wrong you really find out who you are dealing with.... and when a 'great business' can't even pick up the telephone to resolve an issue... They ain't so great....

Does Cool Ideas hide behind a WhatsApp portal or can you actually speak to a human being?

Sorry to hear that.

Yes you can chat to someone in our call centre and escalation via myself and @CoolEscalator here as well.
 
We are with MTN Supersonic. Apparently we are locked in? Complex rules apply. Fibre 20MBps up and down. Service is very poor. A neighbour tried to escape, but was prevented by contractual rules. We have fibre connection available in our complex. My neighbour managed to get connected with another ISP, a quick disconnect followed. MTN Supersonic is disinterested except for monthly fee collection. I don't know which FNO our service runs on.
Any suggestions?

Been with CISP for like 6 years or so i don't even remember and honestly the like 3 tickets i logged i spoke to very decent people.

Plumbers snapped our fibre while repairing a pipe on a Friday at 5:30 i logged a ticket and Vuma was knocking on the door 8am Saturday morning. I have to give a lot of credit to PB and CoolEscalator though since i am pretty sure they helped fast track that one :ROFL:

If that is the definition of circus maybe more ISP's should be joining in on the circus vibes
