Hi all, what is the best ISP to play stacraft 2 from cape town.

So far, I know Mweb and cool ideas (CISP) have a decent 150ms latency, but need to know of any others as i will need to have additional options once I move.

Not sure of the fibre providers yet, but any other options with 150ms latency or less will be appreciated.

The IP tested is 37.244.28.102

Thanks

While i'm with Cool Ideas too and play SC2 almost every night with no issues, i can also tell you i've also played it from dodgy hotel wi-fi in an African country and it still worked fine lol. Its not that needy.

Any non turn-based competitive online multiplayer game is needy of low latency…

Yes but it’s a lot more forgiving than an FPS for example. And it’s always been very good over slower lines and lines where some other games just didn’t like the latency. You do get stuck with the irritating screen of “waiting for..” sometimes but it has to be a really really bad latency.

Im just looking for other ISP's if CISP and MWEB are not available without having to signup to everyone to see if its ok or not.

It will be ok on CISP and MWEB. Although of the two ide recommend CISP.

SC2’s requirements are:
Recommended for: StarCraft 2, Age of Empires, Warcraft 3, Company of Heroes
  • Download Speed: 3 Mbps.
  • Upload Speed: 1 Mbps.
  • Ping rate: 150 ms.
So on fibre and anything above a 20/20 line you’ll be fine. Unless you mess up your WiFi or something and cause other issues.
