Hi there, maybe add more specific information on what you'll be using it for on Campus, and also more detail as to what you mean by when you say "light gaming"?
The default assumption to make is that the gaming side will always more than likely be more demanding in terms of specifications, than any studies or office work, depending on what work you do on campus. Hence the above question.
What kind of games are you looking to play? Solitaire or some of the latest titles which need serious specs on the machine?
I have a Asus Fx 550jx, it's pretty decent. And it's suitable for light gaming too. It's a little over 10k though. But I think it'll be worth it.
But otherwise you can take a look at he's little brother: Asus X302lj So not bad. Supports both HDD and SSD So thats a bargain! That is about a little under 10K
