Very good response Loosecannon, since this is currently a source of your bread and butter, and have a family to feed, some things must be paid for, giving a solution to SOHO networks freely, and charging you're corporate clients is the only way to make it work, otherwise, you get no cash, and they get no updates, in the end, it works for both parties!
I used to be hardened on the 'freely available open source' concept, but I became rather sympathetic on this issue since I came across the homepage of LRP,
the Linux Router Project or better known now as LRIP, this guy did something similiar to the cannonball, but it sounds a little less feature rich.
He had to disband all his clients because he was purely running on a donation basis.
LooseCannon, provide what you can, but look out for your own needs.
