hi im very new to ocing what liquid cooling system would u
recommend for R2000 i would like to oc my i7 920

For R2000 you could get a nice Swiftech system up and running........ if you could actually find anyone that sells Swiftech in SA.

I think corsair has a nice pre-built system that you could use. Not too expensive.

The Corsair H50 is a good bet. Cheap and works good on the i7. Mine is clocked at 4.2ghz and temp is about 40 on idle. Under load i am not so sure about. Will check.

Pricing is about R950.00

Whatever you do DO NOT GET THE SYSTEMS MADE BY THERMALTAKE, COOLERMASTER, ZALMAN etc., go for a Swiftech kit or build your own loop with danger den, swiftech etc. parts

I have four Koolance systems - two integrated case systems and two Exos units. Chugging away day and night. Well priced and good performance, but you'll need a mate in USA to send to you as they use couriers and transport ex USA is VERY expensive. Easy to install and hassle-free liquid cooling. But then you might prefer a more hobbyist/custom system or kit and like fiddling with the stuff ... choice is yours. Koolance and other high-end stuff (including VapoChill and Prometeia Mach II phase change chillers - both of which I had but now sold) used to be imported by Synapsys, but they quit the advanced/xtreme/liquid cooling business some years back.

if you're cool with your cpu running at 75c (thereabouts) then air cooling would work :p

Someone is smoking the wacky weed again;)

At idle the H50 and TRUE run about the same temp. It's under full load at 4GHZ that the H50 keeps the i7 around 10 to 12 degrees cooler than the TRUE.

Nope, prophecy did an import of watercooling parts a short while ago from sidewinder computers. Not sure if you can still place an order. Check the prophecy forum for more details.

Care to enlarge on such a broad statement? etc. etc. LOL.

I had a V8 Coolermaster with Zalman thermal paste and on my i7 @4.2ghz had a idle between 46 and 49.....

Watercooling's effeciency depends on many factors (radiator's size, pump displacement, liquid used, thermal compund, waterblock etc.) and VERY important, airflow in the case. There has to be fan's taking away the heat inside the case.

For R2k what's he going to import from Swiftech and Dangerden?

That's the sad truth for us. Price. I was lucky and managed to get a Swiftech CPU waterblock, Swiftech MCP655 pump, some Tygon tubing and a 240 rad for less than R3000. But I bought it in Canada and "imported" it myself. ;)

For those interested in a local Swiftech supplier, I managed to find one place that seems to sell. Landmark PC. Still need to find out from them if they still supply.

The prices are  tho. But worth it imho. My E6400 overclocked to 3.4Ghz runs maxes out at 48°C..... core temp.
