best low latency low cap deal?

Gents,

I value any input.

I am an avid online poker player, and need some very decent ping times because I play on an overseas site, if thelatency is crap, I can either time out or when using delaying tactics, often don't call or check in time.

I have a few IS accounts, as well as iBurst - iBurst's latency is faaaaaaaaar better than IS's (maybe thats because IS's bandwidth is via sattelite)

but the problem with iBursts bursts is that it can often play against my favour so I need to find a decent dsl ISP for this purpose, I don't use more than a gig a month for this so preferrably something with 1 gig - no higher because I'm an IS reseller so it would not make sense for me to get an account greater than 1Gig that I could beat with my own proces for browsing and downloading my "favourite applications"

any suggestions?
 
Get a verizon account it has the best latencies by far in sa (I use mine for WoW). you get 1g accounts as far as i know.
 
Try a normal SAIX account, it should give you much better pings than the IS one.
 
verizon dont sell directly to the public so who is a resellerof theirs?

What kind of latency do you get to Europe/USA?

Would you mind posting some ping/traceroutes please?

Conveniently stumbled upon this after reading your thread.

They resell Verizon Unshaped (made for gaming!!). 1gig unshaped for R129.00. Should be ok for your purposes.

Verizon unshaped:
500MB = R59.00
1GB = R119.00
3GB = R290.00
and if you use over, you pay per MB... :rolleyes:
perfect for gaming and voip and vpn's... and pretty much everything!:D

edit: NB all prices include VAT... :rolleyes: enuf said...

As far as I know Axxess has the best priced unshaped ADSL accounts.
Both on the basic and prepaid account types.

Can somebody with a Verizon unshaped account please paste some local and international pings to various servers?

any isp's that sells prepaid Verizon unshaped accounts ?

Prepaid or not. It should be the same. I have an unshaped (prepaid) SAIX account from Web Africa. Latency has been higher than normal for the past two months.

Edit: If someone could ping this address: 213.248.66.170 - it's a Warcraft III server in Europe. Also, tracert europe.battle.net

that issue was reported on 30th april. its now 23may and still the nice yellow bar in wow....
