Best LTE deal currently

Our LTE "contract" is coming to an end this month, looking to do better, we have a small package currently 10G for R299.

Looking for the best anytime data deal for R300-R400 with the most reliable speed and amount of data for that price?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have sort of identified the best deal I think for what I was paying, we did the no contract thing, thinking we can cancel at anytime, just to find out that you can't, as it turns out, we took a device with, if we wanted to cancel, we had to pay the supplier almost R2000.00 for the devise. Not a contract...true but they have you by the balls.

We have a router now, B315s, so sim only is a go but I see CellC has a package with a better router and 50Gig anytime data, better that 30 day and 30 night, we don't use the 30 at night....because we sleep...go figure! So 50gig anytime it is so far.
 
I am slightly worried, I identified the package below(R359-50Gig anytime) but all this problems with the Cell C router worries me, can I take the package, not use their router but my huawei B315 instead with their sim?

well the rain sim only deal is good,
R250, contract less, and use your own device.

uncapped time is between 11PM and 6PM the next day,
during that time one is completely free to download and stream as much as one wants.
 
Thanks eg2505, I'd rather go for the 50gig anytime, but will the contract sim work with the huawei I have or must I for some reason use their router?
 
Lol...the more I read the more I get worried, so many unhappy campers with Cell C, more on Telkom...what to do????

Then go via one of the ISP's like Mweb who sell the same service but with the option for sim only and you are not locked into a contract if anything goes wrong.

They have that package available on SIM-only for R289pm x 24, but I am still trying to get clarity on if any LTE-A device will work. I would assume so.

They sell sim only month to month (no contract)
I use them for LTE-A Telkom anytime data with no problems.
80GB for R599 pm.
You might want a smaller package.

Axxess Cell C also sells LTE-A anytime data. eg: 50GB for R349. (BUT make sure you fall 100% within the CELL-C coverage map.)
 
Thanks for all the replies, I fall just within the border of the Cell C coverage, I have read that some people have had problems where they fell within the border and for some reason later in time suddenly outside.

I see mybroadband rated MTN the fastest internet speeds, pitty they are so expensive, the business packages is ok, but the home/private packages are too expensive.

Whether you go through a secondary service provider or not, it comes down to Telkom and Cell C, the way I see it, Cell C has better service but worse internet speeds, Telkom has bad service but better speeds...so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Try out the Cell C one first, ask them for the month-month option so you can test it out for a month to see if it works.
 
Tried out the Cell C card on my router B315, speeds were between 5-8 mbps, Telcom between 0.5 and 1.3 mbps, so it will definitely not be one of the 2. I'd rather pay more for less, my mtn phone measured between 30-50 something mbps. Pitty I can't take the business packages.
 
checked now and cellc has this " Data Democracy" "special" going on but ! 24 month contract, NO month to month option. Same packages at other isps are month to month.

Please enlighten me as to how you go about getting month to month as the website only shows 24x months . Agent on chat also said that you can take lte-a on month to month, but when proceeding to checkout there is no option for it ??? what am i missing

You can't use any Cell C sim to test out the speed because it connects to any Cell C tower and also roams, whereas the sim you get for Fixed LTE will connect to only 1 tower in your area that only accommodates Fixed LTE users

That's why you have to order the sim to test out the speed.

I am on Vox deal R424 per month for 100GB (month to month) - LTE (fixed).... In Lyttelton
