Hi all

I've just bought myself a notebook, and I'm interested in getting some sort of broadband connection to the internet. Let me explain what I need:

The majority of my internet usage takes place at work. When I need to download something, I generally download it from work to my notebook, etc. I'd like a connection to the Internet so that I can occasionally check e-mail and surf the web a bit from home as well, and also so that I can connect to the Internet (And our corporate network) from customers and such.

I see myself using less than 1GB of traffic a month.

I've looked at iBurst, Sentech and Vodacom 3G. These offerings seem to be very similar at about R1 per meg (Anything from R400 to R600 a month for 500 megs, and then between R1 and R2 per meg thereafter). All this seems very reasonable, but a friend told me that it was WAY overpriced, so now I'm confused.

What do you guys think?

It all depends on where you are and where u would like to connect from. Not all areas are covered by all the ISPs. Best you check the coverage maps first. It should trim your options quite a bit. Mine have been slaughtered down to 1. (Vodacom GPRS). <--- Its the sux0r i know!

I'm in the Randburg area. The three companies I mentioned all seem to have coverage in my area.
