hi
i see a lot of post saying to buy a different modem than the marconi ethernet modem but which one is the best for south africa
thanks

Hi,

We found that in a coropoate environment incorpoating ADSL into your routing infrastructure was the best - get an adsl interface for your router.

I am using the Netgear DM 602 modem from Duxbury
I have had it just under a month now and not only is it about half the price of the Telkom offering, but it can also be configured as a router thus giving you more inherent hacker protection.
Easy to configure and your money isn't going to Telkom....[:D]

I purchased an ASKEY USB modem from Pinnacle Micro for about R500.00, and it works great, as I have a switch at home the other pc's get online via Winroute.

The ASKEY modem is a good buy though
