Best modem for Linux/windows home network

k guys...im looking at getting adsl soon...i know the international speeds are crap but i can live with that if local is fine...i just wanna game locally...

thing is my brother and i are on a network...he uses linux i use windows...which would be the best modem to get? it needs to be a router too coz i dont wanna buy a gateway computer...
i looked at the netgear dg814...is that a good buy for my needs?

The DG814 should work fine with both Linux and Windows, I can vouch for the Windows part. Essentially the router pretty much functions as your gateway so you don't have to install any PPPoE drivers.

Get the Planet ADSL Modem Router (about R1200)... the thing works perfectly. No software needed... just plug it (Ethernet or USB), enter your username & password (and VPI&VCI).. and you're off.

Where the hell did Telkom's R2400 for an Ethernet modem come from anywayz?
