I'm looking for recommendations of good vehicle tracking devices. The unit just needs to do the basic, which is track my car.

So far I've been recommended the Beam-e

Just get the basic Tracker. R99 or something.

Probably won't find your car anyway, but it makes the insurance people happy.

Can vouch for Beam-e. Got it last year at R100 and no funny stuff with electronics.
Get insurance certificate and send it through

May I ask what car you are putting the tracker in?

In my opinion I avoid putting them in my cars, I put them in my VW's only because insurance made me, have heard many stories where peoples cars were recovered and pretty much wrecked, burnt out clutches, rips in the seats, seatbelts cut through to mention a few. A colleague of mine had his car chased by the tracking company only for the thieves to crash it and insurance did not write the car off and he ended up with a code 2.... Just my 2c

Same story, insurance is making me put it in. So I'm just looking for the cheapest option but best option

Was this a special quote? I see online its going for R130 now.

Saw the price went online late last year sadly.
Selling point for me was it doesn't touch the car's electronics + no contract + R150 install cost.

Damn :(

Question, what happens in the case I sell the car (with all tracking companies)? I know there's a termination fee but for selling a car which will be no longer yours I don't see why.

Check there's a clause you have to test the unit on a regular basis or the insurance gives you carrots when paying out, essentially they like loopholes to not pay.

Luckily insurance has never forced me to have a tracker in my car.

It is not so bad the insurance reduced the price of cover for my cars by about the price i pay for the tracker every month .
So basically tracker for free .
