I am looking to go with MTN fixed LTE as it gets the best speed in my area.
What do you reckon is the best ISP to go with?
Been looking at Axxess and Afrihost. Other suggestions?

I am with Axxess. The signal is good but there Suppprt is crap. They never reply to your email tickets and the @axxess lady on this forums doesn't reply back as well. Stay away from Axxess

Thanks for that. Both companies offer the exact same product offerings, so it really just comes down to service.

Their offering is identical and because they share the same network you will see the same performance on both.

I already read all Axxess's tc's and c's - so I had planned to go with them, but won't do if their service is bad

Well the sim only options are Month to Month with no cancellation as far as I know so switching is easy.

Always found the local AH rep on the ball... at least he gets things done( or has for me on quite a few occasions when required). I hardly bother with support direct.
Of course a bit of civility usually goes a long way too.

My speeds are the fastest yet with an Fixed LTE service in 3 properties I've tested in CT( have tried Rain, Telkom and CellC)

Currently avg 80Mbps day and night peaking at over 100, with dl's of 20+...and my tower stays on during LS..for now at least.

I am peaking about 65mb/s my slowest I have had this far is around 30mb/s so the speed is good. I so have rain which I am going to cancel. Afrihost owns Axxess. The support on Afrihost is better. I read that supersonic is the top ISP in SA and they are owned by MTN.

Personally I would go with Afrihost as you can usually get help and advice on MyBB from AfriMan.

The Afrihost ClientZone and App also provide reliable, up-to-date bandwidth consumption figures from my experience. I have also purchased Topups via the app which were immediately available for use and can be used exclusively during peak times when bandwidth is at a premium. The Topup data cost is around R6~R7 per GB for 10GB or larger bundles which is significantly cheaper than using Mo'Nice bundles etc.

From my experience the Pure LTE product offers the best value for money of the current fixed LTE services.

So I signed up with Afrihost on Monday morning. It's now Friday lunch time and when I log into clientzone it shows that the my order has not even started processing yet.

Payment VerifiedOrder with CourierOrder PackedPackage En RouteDelivered

Payment is not even showing as verified, although I paid with my credit card which is meant to process immediately.

Rather disappointed as I have been getting by on expensive data bundles while I wait for the sim to arrive.

So - 5 days after I placed the order, and processing has not started. This is the reply I get. Must say I am not very impressed with this.

Okay, your parcel is still in the Warehouse and still within the ETA for delivery.

According to our website:
Delivery will occur within 7 to 10 working days from payment clearance.

THEN

Yes, as I mention, the ETA is 7-10 days. It will be dispatched in due time

---

So - I've started off with a bad first impression of Afrihost!

Really? I'm surprised. To be fair I didnt try their LTE. But my DSL experience with them was top notch. Never really needed support in the first place, but if i did their response was immediate. Perhaps you should try calling them instead.

yes really. Their support has been quite shocking. They answer my support tickets without addressing the issue at all.

8 days after ordering fixed LTE and my order is still sitting on 'payment verified'.
The order has not been packaged or handed to the courier.

Did you order just the SIM or the SIM plus router option? My SIM only package took roughly a week to be delivered. They may be very busy with orders as the product seems to be very popular. I wouldn't be surprised if there are going to be shortages of routers in the future due to the coronavirus issues in China.

I ordered sim only. They didn't have the router I wanted, so bought that seperately

So I ordered on 10 FEB.
The courier called this morning wanting to deliver the SIM.
It is now 21 FEB - 11 Days after ordering.
They asked to deliver on 26 FEB, I am however not available that day. The next time they can deliver is 2 March.
Must say I am disappointed with how slow this process has been.

From what I've read on these forums Supersonic is good with fibre, but terrible with the LTE. Probably since there's no contract there.
