What would be the best way to get internet for a commune with 8 rooms in?
I'm thinking a 4mbps uncapped account with a central router and everyone connects wirelessly?

Someone suggested that I should lay cables to all the rooms.

What does routers with 8+ ports cost?

What ISP do you suggest?

Yeah I'd go wireless, not cable. Are you the owner or a tenant?

Get 4mp uncapped, maybe from Mweb or Openweb.

Hi There,
Cable would give you better speed to the modem but not everyone likes cables running through the house.
So wireless is probably the easiest route to go. How much data is entirely up to you and the best option would depend on how much and for what it is going to be used.
You also want to make sure that everyone getsw a fair slice of the action so you may need to put some restrictions on at the router. A tp-Link for instance you could limit the amount down and up per device attached.

In terms of the provider Afrihost is very flexible in allowing you to upgrade and downgrade from what you initially purchase. They also offer small business uncapped and unshaped options as well which could work nicely.

Regards

Tim
