My dad died Oct 2016 and nominated his transfer attorney as executor. His estate is still to be finalised. Monthly costs keep on piling up.
My mom died Nov 2019. The executor named in the will predeceased her. Took me 11 months to get the named executor’s death certificate and have my chosen lawyer assist me to get appointed as executor (covid closures at the Master’s Office did not help). With me driving the lawyer the estate was finalised Jul 2021. And also I negotiated costs less than the standard 3.5% on appointing my choice of lawyer to assist me.
