Best place to get Laptop memory?

I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop memory (currently have 1 gb) and looking to buy 2 x 1gb ram sticks (667mhz or 800mhz)
Where is the best (& cheapest) place to buy quality laptop memory?

I've only seen one or two sites that advertise, and it seems like they're at ridiculous prices

i got my 533MHz stick from SaNotebook.co.za.... but they not cheap 512 for close to a grand. Do you even get "cheap" laptop sticks in SA?

I can agree with you on that.... but then again i first checked with IBM before i bought anything and they recommended Kingston.

Thats where i first saw kingston memory. On my first PC with a vga screen...IBM model 80 (YEEEAAAAARS ago). They recommend kingston because its the only thing they use in their pcs, and theres a good reason for that If you are feeling brave...get some hynix memory from Sahara

Wasnt there a special from cyberdyne including laptop 533 sticks....1gig for like R400? My memory isnt so good though

Sounds good, i wonder what brand it is. If its kingston, go get it...wont get a better deal than that.

btw does ne one know if the std ram module can be removed? i heard its built on and only the 2nd slot is free for extra ram

I sold a couple of 1 GB DDR2 Kingston 667s last week for R425 each + VAT so it should be around there.
