Best Price for E6400 CPU

How much does that go for?

Edit. As little as R880 bucks apparently :D

Whats the fastest AMD X2 cpu (socket 939) thats out? price also if anyone has it?

edit. flip man watsup with you guys and onboard graphics, we're not in the stone ages any more. Hell my 6800GT runs HL2 with everything on full (no AA/AF though I think) and it's smooth, thats at 1680x1050 by the way.

And how fast are they? If they are rated at 2500Mhz, how fast do they really run?

*googles...

Example an Athlon64 4800+ will perform (and outperform in some cases) an equivalent P4 clocked at 4.8GHz last I read (not sure if it's still the case in the X2 chips ratings)

Well if lightning took out you gaming PC, then your stuck with onboard like me buddy...

socket 939 athlon64 x2 dual core 4600+ (2400mhz) 2 x 512k L2 cache: R2350

socket 939 athlon64 x2 dual core 4800+ (2400mhz) 2 x 1mb L2 cache: R2720

Not good value for money...

I think he's talking about AMDs xxxx+ rating on their CPUs..like a 3200+ is not really 3.2Ghz but performs the same as a P4 @ 3.2Ghz..

You're right hey, not good value for money right now..

I dunno how Intel name their CPUs but AMD's is NOT just a number they stick on the processor, it give a comparison to it's closest intel equivalent like I said

That is what I meant yes...Cos the AMD chips seems to be quite cheap to me..

No, as soon as with the x2's came out, it just became a model number.

I'm lucky because I knew my mobo would only need a BIOS flash to run the X2 and FX chips, so 2 years down the line after buying my PC even the newest 939 processors will work on it. :) Only downside is I'm stuck with DDR400 ram :( and AGP

edit. didn't know that ssb, sorry
