You don't have to operate them in mesh system. Just change to router mode.

Anyways, I wouldn't see why its not suited. I've got one in my garage (a separate building) and it works great. Not much different from a flatlet that the OP is trying to link. Unless the aim is trying to split networks but then even extenders are pointless.

Depends how far away the buildings are. As long as they can get some signal, it should be fine. If all else fails you can just run a cable...

Haha, you never disappoint. I too have dedicated myself to the deprogramming of wifi extender cult members. Not everyone can be saved though, some people are just too far gone.

There are various tests one can do to make sure the range extender is working perfectly.

The wrong person setting up range extenders can lead to issues, I agree. But the right person would fix this.

I tested one of those TP Link wifi extenders btw. I wanted to run it as OneMesh but TP Link only allows that if the main router is OneMesh enabled which in my case it isn't, it's an AP.

So 1 Gbps internet -> main -> AP -> extender

Managed to get 300 Mbps. It kinda sucks because it's not a mesh and I have a new SSID for it. This might work in your case.

But even better, if you have a TP Link main router supporting OneMesh like an AX73 and a decent TP Link extender also supporting OneMesh it should work even better.

But spending a couple of thousand on a new router setup...maybe it's cheaper laying an Ethernet cable (run it in a pvc pipe along your fence or something, I dunno). Nothing beats cable.

EDIT: just a note that OneMesh as a far as mesh systems go is a second class citizen compared to Deco, obviously.
