Best / recommended wifi extender(s)

As above, want to extend my wifi signal to two flats on my property. See there is plenty of extenders on takealot. And recommendation?
Cable is not an option.
 
Powerline Adapter with an AP on the other end is my go-to.

Set the same SSID and Password and device should roam

Problem is electricity regulations say that each flat has to have its own DB board for safety reasons, so it's unlikely a powerline adapter will work well, or at all, from the main house to a separate dwelling if it's up to regulation.

Yeah, then I'd say the PtP wireless link or run a ethernet cable (depending on the distance)

You're just wasting your money on something like this. You need proper point-to-point WIFI links.

Thanks for the random suggestions of just "no".
Used it quite well for 3 years now so unless theres a substantive reason behind it...

I also have nothing but bad experiences with them.

They do work, sometimes, when they feel like it but always end up being unreliable and without the right technical skill end up a frustrating nightmare for the user.

Running a cable is always 1st prize - failing that a proper point to point wifi link with a separate WAP on the remote side.
 
The best mid-range range extender in my experience is the plug-in TP-Link RE450 / RE455. Another option is a decent TP-Link 2.4GHz router in range extender mode, as it has the benefit of DC power where one can use mini UPSs to keep them going during load-shedding. Other than that, mesh systems (glorified range extenders) work really well too. TP-Link E4 is fine if you don't need more than 100Mbps. Otherwise M4, S4 or S7 if you need more.
 
I tried powerline and some other solutions and nothing worked as well as getting the cable put in. I now use Deco range TP Link pair that are wired together and covers both stories of my place really well.

How far away from the main router are the flats?
