These extenders are the spawn of Satan. Rather use a decent ceiling mounted access point.

I wonder if this article was one posted during the recent hack of News Corp???

Bob gets a 1Gbps fibre line. Bob uses said extender in office. Bob get 40Mbps on a good day on his laptop connected via wireless to extender on speedtests. Bob unleashes hell upon his ISP and denigrates them to the point they look like broken pencils.

Even better, it outperforms competing extenders that, at least on paper, should offer faster speeds.

Lol yeah plugging something into a wall plug vs mucking about with the ceiling.
The peace of mind and satisfaction of full speeds using ceiling mounted AP's completely overshadow the costs associated with paying a professional to install the ceiling mounted AP's.

Although my initial post on this thread was made in jest the reality is if you paying for 500Mbps or 1Gbps then you would do well to get the return on that capital outlay with adequate WiFi hardware. Whats the point of paying for 500Mbps per month and only getting 45-70Mbps on your extenders? I have noticed this disease is worst in cluster estates where the houses are built closer to each other than on erf stands for example.

What ceiling mount ap would you recommend? I would have to use poe as I don't have power in my ceilings

Especially when the extenders claim to speed up your Wi-Fi network, beyond your ISP's provided network.
I want to see how 802.11s perform, compared to normal connect and 'extend'.
