Best Remote Control / Receiver for XBMC / OpenELEC

Please suggest a Remote Control / Receiver for use with XBMC / OpenELEC.
A link to a local (online) retailer with price and what you use it for (or why it is "the best") would be appreciated!

Definitely an Android phone. It uses wifi, so no line of sight required and it is very responsive. It also has that cool factor.

I used a generic infrared MCE remote before and there's just no comparison.

Ive tried the droid and the ios apps to control xbmc, and I find them lacking.

I just bought two "PC Remote Controller" from takealot amazon portal, if you don't mind waiting its rather cheap (3-4 weeks wait).

Its not a normal remote but actually maps as a keyboard and mouse in one. Works out of the box for both Win7 & Ubuntu11.04.

also using that one, works well and cheap, also use my Android phone sometimes

Harmony 300 remote for XBMC, you will not look back.

It will also replace 4 other remotes and it costs the same as a normal Videomate remote.

Is there anything besides an antec veris (plugs into mobo) or an android/iphone sending a WOL packet that can actually turn the server on remotely?

I used this till I loaded xbmc official app from android market, never used the remote again. In fact if you want my Harmony you can come fetch it for free.

Not sure. I've only ever had the esquire wireless keyboard/mouse connected and it's completely dead when box is asleep.

R133 including shipping. It arrived today so haven't tried it, but I have to say I'm quite impressed at the thought that went into it. Down to wires for tapping the remote into the motherboard's power switch, and into the PSU's permanently-on pins on the mobo molex connector. So you can actually simulate pushing the PC's power button with this thing, even when it's switched off.
